This article covers the safety guidelines for the BR102 by Boretti.

WARNINGS AND IMPORTANT ADVICES

It is extremely important that the instruction booklet belonging to the appliance is kept. Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another person, or should the appliance be left behind in the house from which you move, the new user must be able to consult the instruction booklet and the warnings contained therein. If this appliance is to replace an old model with a hook or spring closure, it is advisable to make the closure of the old appliance, which is set aside, unusable. This will prevent playing children from locking themselves in, which is life-threatening. These warnings are intended for your safety and that of others. You are expected to have read them before installing and/or using the appliance. General Safety • This appliance is not intended for use by children, persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or a lack of knowledge and experience, unless supervised by a person responsible for their safety or unless they have received instructions on use from that person. • Do not let children be near the appliance without supervision. • It is dangerous to alter this appliance or its properties in any form whatsoever. • Always unplug the appliance before starting to defrost, clean, or replace the light bulb (if present). • This appliance is heavy. Parts of the edges on the back and bottom may be sharp. Be careful when lifting. • NEVER place explosive substances in the appliance, such as gas fillings, petrol, ether, acetone, etc. • Consuming ice lollies directly from a freezer compartment, frozen section or freezer can cause burns to the mouth lining; wait a moment. DISPOSAL. Remove the door(s) or lid and cut off the power cord, so that while awaiting removal or disposal, playing children cannot lock themselves in or be exposed to an electric shock. • Be very careful when moving the appliance, so that the parts of the cooling circuit are not damaged in such a way that the coolant could leak out. • Do not place the appliance near central heating or a gas cooker. • Do not leave the appliance in direct sunlight for extended periods. • Ensure that there is sufficient air circulation at the back of the appliance. Avoid damage to the cooling circuit. • ONLY for freezers (except built-in models): the appliance can be placed very well in the cellar. • Never place electrical appliances (e.g. ice cream makers) in the cabinet, unless approved by the manufacturer. Maintenance / Repair • Any necessary modification to the electrical home installation or the power cord, for the installation of this appliance, must be carried out exclusively by an authorized person. The relevant socket must be easily accessible, even after any under- or built-in work. • Work carried out by persons without the necessary knowledge may cause damage or injury. • Have inspection and/or repair work carried out by the ELGROEP FACTORY SERVICE and do not install any parts other than original DISTRIPARTS parts. • This appliance contains hydrocarbons in the cooling circuit; maintenance and refilling must therefore be carried out exclusively by expert personnel designated by the company. • In case of malfunction or defect, do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Repairs carried out by non-expert persons can lead to damage or injury. • Consult ELGROEP FACTORY SERVICE. Use • Household refrigerators and/or freezers are intended exclusively for the storage and/or freezing of edible products. • The best results are achieved at ambient temperatures between +18°C and +43°C (Class T); between +18°C and 38°C (Class ST); between +16°C and 32°C (Class N); +10°C and 32°C (Class SN); the class is indicated on the rating plate. • Attention: you must not only take into account the ambient temperature for this type of product but also the following instructions: when the ambient temperature drops below the indicated minimum value, the storage temperature in the freezer compartment can no longer be guaranteed; it is therefore recommended to consume the stored food as quickly as possible. • Follow the manufacturer's advice regarding where and how to store or freeze food. Thawed frozen products must not be refrozen for health reasons. • The freezing inner walls or surfaces in the appliance contain coolant. Do not place sharp objects against such a wall or surface, and do not scrape off frost or ice with metal objects. Leakage may result, causing irreparable damage to the appliance and spoilage of the food. • Do not place carbonated or sparkling drinks in the freezer compartment, frozen section or freezer; the cans or bottles may explode due to the freezing of the contents. Installation • Ensure that the appliance is not standing on the power cord. • Important: if the power cable is damaged, the cable, possibly with plugs, must be replaced; these parts are available from the manufacturer or the service centre. • The heat that the appliance extracts from the food and drinks must be able to dissipate into the environment without obstruction. Poor ventilation below, behind and above the appliance results in poor cooling and/or freezing performance due to unintentional temporary switching off of the compressor or incorrect operation of the absorption unit. • Place the appliance with its back as close as possible to a wall. This prevents burns from contact with hot to very hot parts. • Depending on the method of transport, oil may have flowed from the compressor into the cooling circuit. After placing the appliance, wait at least half an hour before plugging it into the socket. After transport lying on its back, wait at least half a day. This allows the oil to flow back into the compressor. Appliances equipped with an absorption unit can be put into operation immediately. Check approximately 24 hours after putting into operation whether the appliance is working properly. Environmental Protection This appliance does not contain ozone-depleting substances, either in the cooling circuit or in the insulation. The appliance must not be disposed of with household waste or scrap. Discarded refrigerators and freezers must be disposed of properly according to local regulations. Inquire at your municipality about the possibilities in your area. Avoid damaging the cooling circuit, especially at the rear near the heat exchanger. The materials in this appliance marked with the symbol are suitable for recycling. Disposal of Old Appliances The symbol on the product or its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. It must instead be handed over to the relevant collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring that this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste disposal of this product. For more detailed information about recycling this product, please contact your local municipality, your household waste disposal service, or the shop where you purchased the product. INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISPOSING OF PACKAGING MATERIAL The packaging material of our large electrical household appliances, with the exception of wooden parts, is recyclable and can therefore be placed in the recycling waste. We recommend that you: • Place paper, cardboard and corrugated cardboard in the special paper bins. • Put plastic packaging materials in the specially designated plastic containers. If such bins are not yet available in your area, you can give these materials to the dustman. We only use recyclable plastics as packaging material, for example: In the examples, it states PE for Polyethylene** 02 = ^ PE-HD; 04 = ^ PE-LD PP for Polypropylene PS for Polystyrene PLASTIC COMPONENTS To make it easier to determine how to dispose of and/or recycle the material of this appliance, most of the parts of the appliance are marked with symbols to identify them.
