This article contains the manual for the SOLIDO by Boretti.
Ciao! Congratulations on the purchase of your Boretti Solido product. To ensure that you get the best possible use and service life out of your product, we ask you to pay attention to the following. First-time use Remove all the packaging and labels. Wash the pan or dish in warm water and then dry thoroughly. The product is then ready for use, add enough (vegetable) oil, butter, fat for the best cooking results and optimum protection of the enamel surface. Use on the heat source We recommend that you lift the pan and setting it down again when moving it on all hobs/cooking surfaces. This minimises the risk of damaging the cooking surface or the bottom of the pan. We strongly advise against sliding the pan on glass-covered hobs in particular. Furthermore, make sure that the surface area of the heat source matches the base of the pan to achieve the highest efficiency and avoid overheating around the edges and the handles. Particularly on the gas stove, it is important that the flames heat the bottom of the pan and never heat the side of the cast iron. The handles of the products will become hot due to the cast iron's perfect heat conduction, so we recommend using the right potholders or oven gloves at all times for safe handling. Use in the oven/barbecue Boretti cast iron cookware can be used on all heat sources, including gas and induction hobs, glass ceramic hobs, ovens, gas barbeques and charcoal barbecues. In principle the products from the Solido collection (when used normally) can therefore be used perfectly well in the oven or on the barbecue. The only exceptions to this are the products with a stainless steel/silicone knob, these are heat resistant up to a maximum of 200° Celsius or 400° Fahrenheit. Oils and fats The enamel surface is not suitable for fat-free cooking. Your chosen liquid, oil, fat or butter must completely cover the base before heating the pan. Do not leave the pan unattended while it heats up and make sure it does not boil dry as this can permanently damage the enamel. During the preparation of certain dishes (such as lasagne or a fatty fish), it is not necessary to grease the cooking surface prior to use.
