Cleaning and Maintenance

Always cool down a hot pan enough before washing it thoroughly in warm water. Then rinse and dry the pan. Do not submerge a hot pan in cold water. This can cause a thermal shock that can crack or damage the enamel. If any food residues remain, fill the pan with warm water, soak, then wash. Never use metal sponges or aggressive cleaning agents as they can damage the enamel. A plastic dishwashing brush and a mild detergent are enough to clean the product. Always make sure that the pan is completely dried, pay extra attention to the edges of the product. Use in the dishwasher Although our cast iron products are well protected by the enamel layer, we do not recommend putting them in a dishwasher. The dishwasher can have a negative effect on the enamel and cast iron, so we recommend washing by hand as much as possible. Often hot water with possibly a mild detergent is enough to clean the pan. Soaking in lukewarm water works fine for removing burnt-on food residues on the pan. Enamel Boretti's enamel cast iron is durable but can be damaged if the cookware is accidentally dropped or knocked against a hard surface. Always be careful when placing the lid to avoid pieces of enamel breaking off due to the impact. Regularly greasing the edges of the product with (sunflower) oil extends the lifespan of your product and adds an extra protective layer against moisture and possible corrosion.
