BR82 - Usage instructions

This article explains how to use the BR82 by Boretti.

Daily use • Do not put hot pot on the plastic parts in the appliance. • Do not store flammable gas and liquid in the appliance, because they may explode. • Appliance's manufacturers storage rec- ommendations should be strictly adhered to. Refer to relevant instructions. Daily use Verplaatsbare schappen The walls of the refrigerator are equipped with a series of runners so that the shelves can be positioned as required. For better use of space, the front half-shelves can be placed above the rear ones. Daily use Normal Operating Sounds • You may hear a faint gurgling and a bub- bling sound when the refrigerant is pum- ped through the pipes. This is normal. • When the compressor is on, the refrigerant is being pumped around and you will hear a humming and pulsating sound from the compressor. This is normal. • Thermal expansion can cause a sudden cracking sound. This is a natural, not dan- gerous physical phenomenon. This is nor- mal. • A light click is heard when the compressor switches on or off. This is normal. Hints for energy saving • Do not open the door more frequently or leave it open longer than absolutely neces- sary. • If the ambient temperature is high and the thermostat knob is set to a low tempera- ture and the appliance is fully loaded, the compressor may run continuously, causing ice to form on the evaporator. If this hap- pens, set the thermostat knob to a warmer setting to allow automatic defrosting and thus save electricity consumption. Tips for cooling fresh food To obtain the best performance: • do not store warm food or evaporating liq- uids in the refrigerator • cover or wrap the food, particularly if it has a strong flavour • position food so that air can circulate freely around it Useful tips for cooling Useful tips: Meat (all types): wrap in plastic bags and place on the glass shelf above the vegetable drawer. For safety, store in this way only one or two days at the most. Cooked foods, cold dishes, etc.: these should be covered and may be placed on any shelf. Fruit and vegetables: these should be thor- oughly cleaned and placed in the special drawer(s) provided. Butter and cheese: these should be placed in special airtight containers or wrapped in aluminium foil or plastic bags to exclude as much air as possible. Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be stored in the bottle rack on the door. Bananas, potatoes, onions and garlic, if not packed, must not be kept in the refrigerator.
