FI-601 - Usage instructions

This article explains how to use the FI-601 by Boretti.

Clean the oven thoroughly with soapy water and rinse well. To remove the lateral frames from smooth-walled ovens, proceed as shown in the figure. Operate the oven for about 30 minutes at maximum temperature to burn off all traces of grease which might otherwise create unpleasant smells when cooking. Do not use rough abrasives or sharp metal scrapers to clean the glass door of the oven because they could scratch the surface and cause the glass to shatter. Do not use steam cleaners to clean the appliance. As a safety precaution, before cleaning the oven, always disconnect the plug from the power socket or the power cable from the oven. Do not use acid or alkaline substances to clean the oven (lemon juice, vinegar, salt, tomatoes etc.). Place the food in the oven only once cooking temperature has been reached, i.e. when the heating indicator goes out. If you want to increase top or bottom temperature towards the end of the cooking cycle, set the temperature control to the right position. It is advisable to open the oven door as little as possible during cooking. Fan cooking 스XX For this type of cooking a fan positioned at the back allows the circulation of hot air inside the oven, creating uniform heat. In this way cooking is more rapid than conventional cooking. It is a suitable method for cooking dishes on more than one shelf, especially when the food is of different types (fish, meat etc.). Defrosting By selecting one of the fan cooking functions and setting the thermostat to zero, the fan allows cold air to circulate inside the oven. In this way frozen food can be rapidly defrosted. It is not essential to pre-heat the oven, but you are advised to do so when cooking pastries. Grill cooking Use the grill to grill or brown foods. Some ovens may be equipped with an electric motor, spit and skewers for turning on the spit. Place the shelf with the food to be cooked in the 1st or 2nd position from the top. Pre-heat the oven for 5 minutes. Turn the thermostat to a temperature between 50°C and 200°C. Cooling fan The fan is positioned on the upper part of the oven and create a circle of cooling air on the inside of the furniture and through the door of the oven. It is turned on when the temperature of the outer shell of the oven reaches 60°C. By switching on the oven with the thermostat at 200°C the fan starts working after approx. 10 min. It is turned off when the temperature of the outer shell of the oven descends under 60°C. By switching off the oven with the thermostat at 200°C the fan stops working after approx. 30 min. Thermostat Use the thermostat to set the cooking temperature you need. The thermostat can be adjusted from 50° to 250° С. Clock instructions General operation This timer governs the time display (with analog hands) and the operation of the oven (using push knob and indicator icons). Pushing on the knob, you can: adjust the time, program the start time and end of cooking, set the alarm (Minute Minder). Setting the time of day To adjust the clock press the knob briefly 4 times until the display shows "TIME”. Hence to increase or decrease the time, turn knob clockwise or counterclockwise. Manually pressing the push knob, or automatically after 10 seconds of the last adjustment the electronic timer automatically exit time setting mode. Manual cooking During default condition, timer allows manual firing of the oven using the general oven switch (external to the timer). Attention After providing power supply to the timer it takes about 7 seconds before the relay is energized (meanwhile the display will show a grid shape animation). Semi-automatic cooking: switch off at a set end time Cooking end programming allows you to start immediately and stop cooking in an automatic manner based on the time scheduled. To program the end of cooking time briefly press 2 times the push knob until the display shows the following screen: END 0:00 To increase or decrease the cooking time, turn knob clockwise or counterclockwise (the numeric indication "0:00” is updated accordingly). The visualization on the display continues for about 5 seconds after the last rotation. The program can be manually confirmed by pressing the knob (at least 1 minutes of cooking time) or automatically after 5 seconds. Upon confirmation of the program, the cooking is started and the alarm is automatically activated. Cooking stops when “Programmed End Time = Present Time”. To view the program press and release the knob and the timer show the selected program. When cooking stops the "END" screen flashes on the display and the alarm beeps. After 1 minute beeps are disabled and the display is cleared. To cancel the program before the end, press the knob for about 3 seconds and the program will be canceled and the timer returns to manual cooking mode. Fully automatic cooking Cooking start programming allows to start end stop cooking automatically based on the time scheduled. To program the cooking start time, briefly press 1 time the push knob until the display shows the following screen: START 0:00 Increase or decrease the cooking start time turning knob clockwise or counterclockwise (the numeric indication “0:00" is updated accordingly). The visualization on the display continues for some seconds after the last rotation. If within this time you don't turn or press the knob the hands return automatically to display the time and the program is canceled. If you press the knob the cooking start time is stored and the timer switches to cooking end programming. The cooking time end programming will follow the procedure in the preceding section. Cooking will begin when “Programmed Start Time = Present Time". Setting the minute minder Minute Minder programming allows you to have a simple alarm after a scheduled time without activating the cooking (mode Minute Minder). To schedule an “alarm” (Minute Minder mode), press the knob 3 times until the display shows the following screen: BELL 0:00 Minute Minder setting is identical to end of cooking time setting. It's possible to use Minute Minder on its own when there is no current cooking program active.
