Is your extractor hood making too much noise?

The cause may be found in your exhaust duct. It may be too long, blocked, or kinked. If your extractor hood has a recirculation system with charcoal filters, the noise could have three causes:
  1. The charcoal filter is not installed correctly. Air passes along the sides of the carbon filter, causing noise;
  2. The diameter of the extraction hose is too small, it should at least have the same diameter as the connection to the motor, 120 mm - 150 mm;
  3. The carbon filter is saturated. This will occur over time. Because of this, less air passes through than with a new filter and the extractor hood will produce more noise. A solution could be to use a plasma filter, which not only works better, but also offers a silent performance.
